If you are not afraid of heights then this worthwhile to visit. Also, Bungee jumping at Verzasca Dam is on my travel bucket list. The Verzasca Dam is also known as The Contra Dam or Locarno Dam is an arch dam that is located on Verzasca River in Switzerland.

The Verzasca Dam was made famous by the iconic opening scene for the James Bond movie “Goldeneye” and since then people from all over the world have been coming to Switzerland to recreate the daring stunt.

The height of this dam is 220 meters (720 feet) and it is the fourth highest in Switzerland. 7.5 seconds free fall, 220 altitude meters, parallel to the impressive dam and you can test your jumping nerves here. Apart from that you can enjoy stunning Alpine views.

The Verzasca Dam can be reached from Gordola via a 2km long section of road. The jumping station is in the middle of the dam wall. It is world’s highest stationary bungee station. There are some options to jumping. Classic jump, backwards, ultimo and night jump.

I gained experience about bungee jumping in Turkey. As soon as you leave the platform you experience free fall. This is the feeling that keeps serial bungee jumpers coming back for more because there is nothing else like it. There is no feeling in the world that sends as much exhilaration, adrenaline and fear through your body.

I can say that, you don’t need too afraid because professional jump masters onsite ensure your safe jump. All you have to bring along is the courage to jump!
